.A POTENT FAST-MOVING CLIPPER SYSTEM WILL CROSS THE WESTERN
CAROLINAS ON WEDNESDAY. THE SYSTEM WILL BRING IN SHOWERS STARTING
LATE TONIGHT…AND CONTINUE INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT…AS PRIMARILY
NORTHWEST FLOW ACTIVITY. SNOW LEVELS SHOULD FALL TO THE VALLEY
FLOORS BY THE MIDDAY WEDNESDAY…RESULTING IN LIGHT

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG HAS ISSUED
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM
MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO MIDNIGHT EST WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

* LOCATIONS…NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS ALONG THE TENNESSEE
BORDER…AS WELL AS MACON AND NORTHERN JACKSON COUNTIES.

* HAZARDS…ACCUMULATING SNOW ON AREA ROADWAYS.

* TIMING…SNOW SHOWERS WILL BEGIN IN THE SOUTHWEST MOUNTAINS LATE
TONIGHT…AND SPREAD EAST ACROSS THE REST OF THE NORTH CAROLINA
MOUNTAINS THROUGH THE DAY ON WEDNESDAY. THE VALLEYS MAY START
OUT AS RAIN OR A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW…BUT SNOW LEVELS SHOULD
FALL TO THE VALLEY FLOORS BY MIDDAY. SNOW SHOWERS WILL TAPER OFF
WEDNESDAY EVENING…WITH LINGERING NORTHWEST FLOW SHOWERS LATE.

* ACCUMULATIONS…MOST VALLEY LOCATIONS WILL SEE 1 TO 3
INCHES…AND ELEVATIONS ABOVE 3500 FT WILL SEE 2 TO 4 INCHES.
LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE…ESPECIALLY IN FAVORED
UPSLOPE AREAS.

* IMPACTS…LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL RESULT IN HAZARDOUS ROAD
CONDITIONS…ESPECIALLY IN THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING…WHEN
TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO DROP.

* TEMPERATURES…STARTING OUT IN THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 30S WEDNESDAY
MORNING…THEN FALLING WELL INTO THE 20S WEDNESDAY EVENING.

* WINDS…NORTHWEST 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.
