THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG HAS ISSUED
A WIND CHILL WARNING…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM MONDAY TO
NOON EST TUESDAY. THE WIND CHILL WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* LOCATIONS…THE MOUNTAINS OF NORTH CAROLINA AWAY FROM THE
TENNESSEE BORDER.

* WINDS…NORTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.

* WIND CHILL VALUES…DROPPING BELOW ZERO LATE MONDAY
AFTERNOON…THEN FALLING TO MINUS 10 TO MINUS 20 MONDAY NIGHT.

* IMPACTS…DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILL THAT COULD CAUSE
FROSTBITE ON EXPOSED SKIN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WIND CHILL WARNING MEANS THE COMBINATION OF VERY COLD AIR AND
STRONG WINDS WILL CREATE DANGEROUSLY LOW WIND CHILL VALUES. THIS
WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA OR DEATH IF
PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
